18th CA2RE Conference on Architectural and Artistic Research: Mapping – Évora, October 2025
18th CA2RE Conference on Architectural and Artistic Research, under the theme of Mapping. Focusing on architectural and artistic research, this event will be hosted by the University of Évora from 9 to 11 of October 2025.
The conference provides a platform for researchers and practitioners from diverse disciplines engaged in design-driven and artistic research to share their work through rigorous peer review and critical dialogue. The theme of 'Mapping' encourages an expanded understanding of spatial representation, encompassing methodological, instrumental, symbolic, cultural, aesthetic and ecological dimensions.
The conference will explore three distinct lines of research will be explored: Mapping into, through, and for artistic and design-driven research. Additionally, there will be a conceptual mapping workshop led by the renowned architect and photographer Duarte Belo.
