Faculty of Architecture Zagreb Yearbook 2015/16

The Faculty of Architecture Zagreb Yearbook, is a series of publications systematically showcasing the activities of the teachers and students of the Zagreb Faculty of Architecture. As this edition marks five years since the introduction of a new organization for activities related to the final exam and the creation of the diploma thesis, this yearbook presents an overview of the Master Thesis Studio of the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb. The entirely bilingual edition features an interview with Professor Nenad Fabijanić, the Chairman of the Master Thesis Studio Committee, and texts by members of the Master Thesis Studio Committee, who express their views on the essential characteristics of the Diploma Workshop's teaching, formed through long-standing artistic-teaching or scientific-teaching positions of architect-teachers. The central part of the publication showcases the best diploma projects completed in the past academic year. Their diversity illustrates the educational model of the Diploma Workshop, where the free choice of topics and mentors allows students to find inspiration within their own environment and then, still under the ideal conditions of an academic setting, demonstrate their ability to synthesize a relevant architectural project.
