Course Spatial Planning - Nature and Environment Protection, encompasses selected areas of spatial planning important for understanding the value; the importance and needs of planning spatial planning and environmental protection. Specific knowledge about space management will be explained taking into account the obligations of environmental protection. Course develops specific knowledge of space management
while respecting the nature and environment protection requirements and development needs with a particular focus on the competences of the use of the national and regional level valuation methods. The course is a starting point for selecting specific spatial planning (sectoral) research and is especially important for understanding of context of spatial development improving the quality of life in cities and advanced technologies. Characteristic indicators of spatial planning development with critical reflection on the problems of spatial planning in the area of nature protection and environment will be analyzed as well as views on policy development and institutional space management frameworks with special emphasis on administrative partitioning of space. Topics are: social, economic, legislative and other changes as factors of spatial development planning, changes in the meaning of territorial context and its definition; the complexity of conservation and the establishment of a new identity in spatial planning; valuing and protecting space as a constraint in the context of spatial development perspective; planning of protected areas of nature; protection of biodiversity and ecological network; planning of tourist areas and ports of nautical tourism; nature and environmental protection in the perspective of development; environmental protection in the spatial development strategy of the republic of Croatia; Planning of tourist destinations in the protected coastal area of the sea in the Republic of Croatia; spatial planning in the Republic of Croatia - environmental protection and ethics of spatial planning.
