The course focuses on the acquisition of specialist terminology, developing reading skills of specialist texts, improving knowledge of general vocabulary, developing communicative and written competence in specialist English.
Course materials are based on a selection of authentic texts from various sources with architecture-based topics.
Topics: structural solutions through history, architectural design,
typology of buildings, apartments and rooms, famous architects, world-famous buildings.
Students are expected to improve their oral and written competence in English for architecture purposes in order to be able to meet the requirements of their further academic education and future professional work. Knowledge and skills acquired should help them in their future professional careers as well as to integrate more successfully into the professional, business and scientific community within the architectural profession.
